This Terms and Conditions document governs the use of Lapco’s Online shopping web site.
Prices
All prices are listed in New Zealand dollars and include GST of 15.0%. All prices are correct at time of publication; however we reserve the right to alter prices for any reason. If this should happen after you have ordered a product, we will contact you prior to processing your order
Security
We take security seriously, and have taken steps to ensure your personal information is secure. We use secure servers and industry standard data encryption whenever we are receiving or transferring your information online. However, we accept no responsibility for any loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of personal information which you submit to us.
We use the secure Hosted Payment page solution from DPS to process online orders. Customers can see their cards being authorized and debited in real time, all in an SSL secure environment. The Hosted Payment page enables us to offer customers a safe and speedy online shopping experience.
DPS is committed to protecting the security of your data. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide in computer servers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities secured by the latest in surveillance and security technology. When we transmit sensitive information (such as a credit card numbers) over the internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. What personal information do we collect?
Lapco does hold the personal information of all customers. This includes name, address and phone number. This is used to validate account details on enquiries and tracking for business purposes.
When you visit our website we may collect more information, such as the address of your Internet service provider, the name of the web page directing you, and your clicks and activity on our site.
How do we use the personal information?
We may use the information to process your transactions, to administer your account and to help us to develop our website to be more available and user friendly to our customers, and for any other use which you may authorise.
Will we disclose the information to others?
We will treat the information we collect from you as strictly confidential. Other than as set out below, we will not reveal, disclose, pass on, sell, rent, distribute, share or licence to any third parties any personal information that you may have provided to us unless we have your express consent to do so. Lapco does not have any access to credit card or bank account information which is handled solely by the DPS website.
Who has access to this information?
Only authorised employees of Lapco are granted access to information gathered via the website. These employees in turn are only granted access to information that is needed for their specific job.
When do we disclose this information?
To the person that is the owner of the information and no one else under any circumstances. New Zealand has very strict privacy laws and Lapco will adhere to them. Exceptions to this is when there are reasonable grounds to believe that disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life or health; where Lapco is required by law to provide your information
Cookies
Our web site uses a technology called cookies which is a small text file that your browser keeps on your hard disk, and is very common on the Internet. Lapco uses cookies to help us provide a better experience on our site as it allows us to remember what you have been interested in and either purchased or browsed in earlier visits. You may configure your web browser to not accept cookies, although you may experience a loss of functionality as a result.

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws. Any dispute arising under this Agreement shall be resolved exclusively by the New Zealand courts and legal system.
Orders
LAPCO will process your orders via the DPS system and generally there will be no need to contact you, unless you are ordering from overseas You can choose to submit an order/inquiry if you want to have a quote on a product rather than a transaction.
Freight and Dangerous Goods
All orders incur a freight charge . Charges will be added to your invoice, and this will be based on the size of the order and location. Dangerous goods can not be delivered to Rural delivery addresses or outside New Zealand. If your order contains any dangerous goods then you will be charged the Dangerous goods handling fee of $6.00. if yo are ordering from outside New Zealand, your freight charge will be calculated manually and you will be contacted via email for approval before shipping.
Payments
Goods will be dispatched upon receipt of payment. Payment can be made using Visa and Master Cards. If you a Trade customer and wish to become an account holder you can contact us for our current terms of trade.
Dispatch >
We only dispatch goods upon receipt of payment. If the item you ordered is not in stock (our online system Stock on Hand is updated daily, so this should not happen often) there may be up to a two week delay to order shipping. If this happens, we will inform you via email. If you do not want to wait, we can cancel your order and reverse your credit card payment.
Defective Goods
For defective products or goods supplied by us incorrectly, on receipt of the returned goods, we will either replace the goods and refund the shipping fees or refund the full purchase price including shipping fees.
If an item ordered arrives damaged, please make a claim by e-mailing us on info@lapco.co.nz within 48 hours of receiving your order. We cannot be held responsible if we are not informed within this time as we have to be prompt in making a claim on our postal insurance.

While LAPCO makes every endeavor to ensure that its products meet the highest standards as to quality, fitness and compliance with description, and every care is taken over selection of animal hides, no responsibility is accepted for wear and no warranty is given relating to natural product variation, variations from photograph description to physical product, and the effects of any subsequent manufacturing processes.
Because most of our items are made from natural products, there may be some irregularities and variations in colour and texture. These traits are characteristic of fine leather and skin and add to the beauty and character of our products.
